5 Dimensions of the individual suitable door frame profiles
5 - Dimensions of each suitable door frame profile:
Frame profile left, right and top:
As already mentioned in various configuration steps discussed previously, two different profiles are available for the door frame at the top and on the right and left sides. The standard profile is 100mm wide x 100mm deep, i.e., a square profile. For direct mounting, i.e., without the use of mounting brackets (step 7), the mounting is centered in this 100mm profile, i.e., at 50mm.
Also covered by the certificate is a narrower special frame profile with a width of 60 mm and a depth of 100 mm, which is available for an additional charge . This can be installed in the door frame at the top, on the right, and on the left side.
With the narrower special frame profile, the door opening dimensions can be increased by 40mm each while maintaining the same external frame dimensions. This is a valuable option, especially for smaller wall openings, as it permanently contributes to greater comfort.
You can plan the narrower special frame profile for the entire frame or individually for one or two of the three possible sides, so for example a variant with right and left standard frame profile 100x100mm and special frame profile at the top in 100x60mm is also possible (which in this case would increase the passage height by 40mm).
Let’s take a look at this in the picture:
This photo shows the use of the standard 100x100mm profile on the right and left, as well as the narrower 60x100mm custom frame profile on the top. The top dimension was limited by the installation box; using the custom frame profile at the top increased the door opening dimension by 40mm.
Please note that with direct fastenings, i.e. without the use of mounting brackets (step 7), the fastening is also centered in this 60mm profile, i.e. at 30mm. Depending on the masonry (material, quality of the masonry, plaster), this dimension may be too small for direct mounting to allow for permanent anchoring of the door in the masonry. In this case, we recommend using mounting brackets (step 7), as this shifts the anchor points outwards by 50mm (30mm frame plus 20mm mounting bracket). By shifting the mounting point, a more stable hold can be achieved. However, this only applies to the two side profiles; there is no fastening in the upper profile, so this aspect can be ignored.
The use of the special frame profile is suitable for many spatial situations. However, we strongly recommend that you contact us beforehand. We would be happy to take a look at the options and provide assistance to ensure the door is designed perfectly.
