6 - Dimensions of the floor profile for your new gun room door
Soil profile:
Two variants are also available for the floor profile. The standard profile, which is free of charge, measures 50 mm high x 100 mm deep. The floor profile also includes the door's downward-facing bolt, thus also providing a bolt chamber.
TIP: During use, always ensure that this bolt chamber is kept free of foreign objects and dirt, otherwise the locking bolt will not be able to extend far enough out of the door, which can lead to malfunctions of the lock and locking mechanism.
The standard profile is regularly used when the flooring has not yet been installed. While this creates a transition edge, this is further reduced by the flooring's construction. Practical: This edge prevents cleaning water from seeping under the door and ensures that the door doesn't scrape, even if, for example, a small stone is found in the doorway.
If the floor structure is already complete, our special floor profile is a good option. This special floor profile, available for an additional charge, measures 10 mm high x 100 mm deep, thus providing a very low transition edge. Here, too, the downward-facing bolt of the door is enclosed, creating a bolt chamber within it. However, this chamber runs continuously through the profile and is not sufficient to completely enclose the bolt.
This makes it necessary to drill a corresponding recess in the finished floor to accommodate the lower bolt before installing the frame! If this hole is not drilled, the locking bolt cannot extend to its final position, and the door cannot be locked.
Depending on the type and design of the hinge, a further recess may also be required in the hinge area.
The special floor profile is NOT compatible with the CITY HAMBURG and CITY BERLIN models for stability reasons
The special floor profile can also NOT be combined with the mechanical combination lock variant!
This photo shows the use of the special 10x100mm floor profile. The floor structure was already completed, and this alone increased the small doorway by 40mm. Also clearly visible here: this door was manufactured with a special 60x100mm frame profile on the left and top, which added an additional 40mm to the doorway height and width for this small door.
