There are also two variants available for the floor profile. The standard profile, which is free of charge, is 50mm high x 100mm deep. The downward-facing bolt of the door also engages in the floor profile, which means that there is also a bolt chamber in it.

TIP: Always make sure to keep this bolt chamber free of foreign objects and dirt during use, otherwise the bolt may not extend far enough out of the door, which can lead to malfunctions of the lock and bolting mechanism.

The standard profile is regularly used when the floor covering has not yet been installed. Although this creates a step edge, it is reduced by the floor covering construction. Practical: this edge prevents wiping water from seeping under the door and ensures that the door does not drag even if, for example, a small stone is in the area of the door travel.

If the floor construction is already finished, our special floor profile is an option. The special floor profile, which is subject to a surcharge, is 10mm high x 100mm deep and thus offers a very low step edge. Here, too, the downward-facing bolt of the door engages, which means that there is also a bolt chamber in it. However, this is guided continuously through the profile and is not sufficient to fully enclose the bolting mechanism.

Therefore, it is necessary to make a corresponding recess in the finished floor for receiving the lower bolt before mounting the frame! If this bore is not made, the bolt cannot extend to its end position and thus the door cannot be locked.

Depending on the type and design of the hinge, a further recess may also be necessary in the hinge area.

For stability reasons, the special floor profile is NOT suitable for the models CITY HAMBURG and CITY BERLIN.

This photo shows the use of the special floor profile 10x100mm. The floor construction was already finished, and the small door passage dimension was increased by 40mm just by this. Also clearly visible here: this door was manufactured on the left and top with a special frame profile 60x100mm, which gained another 40mm in door passage height and width for this small door.
